The research activities of the Department of Physics cover an ample range of topics which vary from the theory of fundamental interactions, to theoretical physics, to condensed matter (both at a theoretical at an experimental level), as well as to applied and biomedical physics.
In addition there exist manifold research programmes in history of physics and in science education, including outreach activities. Futhermore, an increasing relevance is given to technology transfer addressed both to research centers and to companies outside the academic world.
