Within the field of theoretical physics of matter, we conduct various researches on both fundamental physical aspects as well as connections with experiments and various applications. We also develop theoretical and computational methods, in order to improve the description and the understanding of the investigated systems.

The main topics include solid state systems (electronic, optical, magnetic ,transport, structural, vibrational, elastic properties), nanostructures (low-dimensional systems such as quantum wells and superlattices, quantum wires, quantum dots), spin, photonic nanostructures such as metasurfaces, photonic crystals and nanocavities, classical and quantum optics, quantum information, materials for electrochemistry (rechargeable batteries or fuel cells) and for energy (photovoltaic cells), molecular magnets, systems for electronics.
