Boron Neutron Capture Therapy

Image
BNCT

Boron Neutron Capture Therapy is a hadrontherapy with cell selectivity based on the neutron capture in boron-10 induced by thermal neutrons. The secondary particles have range in tissue comparable to the average diameter of the cells, so the damage is limited to the only cell that absorbed the boron. BNCT is also a promising treatment for multifocal, metastasized, infiltrating, relapsing and radio-resistant cancers.
