Esperimento ATLAS

ATLAS is an experiment located at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, Geneva
(CH). The research program of the ATLAS Collaboration ranges from the precision
measurements of the Higgs boson properties to the search of signals not predicted by
the Standard Model of elementary particles.

The ATLAS Pavia group is one of the founders of the experiment, and is currently
active on various fronts:

  • Data Analysis: precision measurements of the Higgs boson and search for dark matter signals
  • Data Acquisition: development of various elements of the acquisition chain (data flow, read out and data collection) for the current detector and its future evolution
  • Detectors: research and development, management of electrical services and monitoring of muon detectors: Monitored Drift Tubes and Micro Pattern Gas Detectors, in particular MicroMegas chambers.
